  1. A listener from Idaho:
“Time is like spaniels snapping at his feet.”—- what a vivid metaphor! I REALLY like this poet Hazel Hall!

    1. Yes, I received several texts about the spaniel metaphor. Hits home with most of us. So, glad you are enjoying Hazel Hall. One more poem to present –next week. Thanks for listening.

mis-remembered: “The hours are spaniels snapping at his feet.”

  2. The energy of the hurried. I bet Hazel could really see/sense the “bitter concern” and “discomfort” of the hurrier. External pressure to hurry can be unhealthy. Did Hazel ever hurry?

    1. Thanks for your comments. Perhaps she hurried in her mind –racing thoughts. Her needlework was considered excellent and highly sought after, but I have the sense it is hard to race through needlework and do an excellent job.
