A listener from Idaho writes:
Sher, I love, love, love this poem by Hazel Hall. Comparing her to Emily Dickinson sharpens my sense of the directness/simplicity of her poetry, but also the keenness of the synesthesia you describe . incredible! And I like the music that you played to go with this poem with its exquisite violin and cello and I don’t know what else.

Thank you for listening and for your comments. I am so glad you enjoyed our selection of Hazel Hall’s poems. I recorded those snippets of music from a playlist I have going at Adagio dot come– a classical music streaming site. The playlist was cello, but it was such a short segment I am not sure which album it came from. Sorry about that…

Likely! I too have felt this frustration of not being able to capture and reproduce bird song. Our words seem such a feeble mirror. Of course I want to make bird song to share it with others, but I have to accept people just need to go out and experience this for themselves. It’s not for me to do so?
Thanks for this reminder and for listening so closely. Always appreciate your observations.
