    The energy of the hurried. I bet Hazel could really see/sense the “bitter concern” and “discomfort” of the hurrier. External pressure to hurry can be unhealthy. Did Hazel ever hurry?

      Thanks for your comments. Perhaps she hurried in her mind –racing thoughts. Her needlework was considered excellent and highly sought after, but I have the sense it is hard to race through needlework and do an excellent job.

    I am so enjoying the Hazel Hall series that you have been reading online. I love the perspective of someone who lives within a space many of us experience as limiting. Her observations keep expanding my view of the world. Wonderful what  a “limited point of view” can open up.

      Thanks for listening and for commenting. Your saying is perfect! I wonder why they say the busy people are the people who you should ask to take on a task, because they can get it done efficiently and effectively. Well organized perhaps and they don’t hurry; they do their task well. Yes, I agree the spaniel image is an apt image/metaphor for time snapping at one’s heels. A well crafted short poem.
