  2. I was transported to this place… this life. I loved every word. Not too many for me.

I do have very fond memories of my grandparents’ farm in St Paul, OR. that my family would visit most summers for a month or more.
I liked how the poet kept images of the stars in front of us, with the use of words like “starry heads, Venus, Mars, half moon, galaxies and sparks”.

    1. Thank you for commenting. Several people have mentioned memories of granddparents’ farms, and this reminds me one day my grandsons may be remembering our farm with such fondness. Plus, I am sure Ziggy the donkey will make it into their stories. 🙂

Your imagery comment was spot on. This does take me back to the farm of Pap and Granny where I spent many a long summer night and then today where I live. So peaceful.

    1. Hello! Thank you for sharing. This farm she describes is so different from the farm I live on. Here the feel is quite West — arid, meadowlarks, sage, and oaks. You will see few flowers that are not watered. I loved the images of the red daylilies, and I know they were watered by nature.

  6. A listener from Colorado writes:
The second time listening to this, I caught the parallel or mirroring of the numerous stars in the sky and down below, the galaxies of fireflies. Growing up in New England, I loved watching fireflies lit up as night fell. Thank you for sharing this.
