    Dear Sher,

I enjoyed this poem, and I especially enjoyed hearing the robin sing! Thanks!

    1. Thank you for letting me know you are out there! Yes, the birds make it into most of the recordings in the summer. 🙂

  4. “What great imagery in this work – I can see the egrets flying like ribbons and the snakes like hooks. I have looked up pictures of banyan trees in the past because banyan is a very common word in The NY Times spelling bee but I did not know how they grew until I heard this. ” A listener from Colorado

Thanks for listening and commenting. I love The NY Times tidbit about the word Banyan. Sher Poetry

  5. I’m not familiar with Mary Oliver.
Sherpoetry is my access to poems.
I like this one particularly, juxtaposing personal and universal.

    1. That’s wonderful — welcome to wide nature world of Mary Oliver. I’m sure I will share more from another of her collections later this year. Thanks for listening and commenting.

p.s. the bird call in the recording is from a black headed grosbeak
