I am the water. I also have a hundred fires. As the sky changes, I also change. Both the reflection of sky and thorn influence me. The blossom Truth. And beauty brief like the first dew I expire.

I loved this and it made me think about how fascinating a still or flowing water surface can be – alive, but changing and reflecting the changing sky. Thank you for sharing it!

About Me

“I’m a retired Humanities professor, published essayist, poet, painter, singer, and old-time fiddle musician living on an historic two-hundred-acre farm in Eastern Oregon. I plant gardens for pollinators and revel in insects, bird dogs, donkeys, goats, cats, and American fantail and roller pigeons. My lyric landscapes are oak savannah, prairie, and riparian.
