  1. a visceral expression of empathy, or lack of empathy and compassion . The effect of the poem was for me to look where I have empathy or where my heart turns away from that empathy which I have done in the past due to lack of skills to handle some of the awful things that go on

    1. Thank you for commenting. Your comment makes me reflect on turning away… what do I turn away from . I appreciate your use of the word skills too… I see figuring out best way to respond as a skill I’m slowly developing but it is happening and this makes me grateful for life!

  2. I took the time to read her commentary on the poem and I couldn’t agree more – why can everyday people see a larger vision and politicians cannot?
