Several responses: the words with music came alive, really exquisite match of notes and voice, couplet ending emphasizes what someone my age recognizes, and theme of acceptance and silence and noting nature so fits this moment as I unplug the tv and walk paths under color leaves
sher-what a delight to hear your voice aged with the rasp of time. i think of the beautiful old melodies you sang in your youth, honoring the lore and legacy of folk long past. now here you are, creating your own legacy. the poem brought the beckoning of all our senses as we linger, long as possible, in the beauty of our ephemeral autumns both in earth and soul. this is a new medium of this art that i hadn’t thought of before. very inspiring. thank you for sharing it.
Hello and thank you for commenting. When I took the workshop with Emmett Wheatfall my spirit was opened to all sorts of new possibilities with music and poetry. I hope to try some other ideas with choral poetry in the future–of course this means I must get off the farm and get around other voices. Not an easy task for me, but, please stay tuned.
