Yes. I thought of a small kindness I experienced on March 17th. We attended a Saint Patrick’s day celebration in town. An Irish band was playing music, and people from the community were eating, and talking, and laughing. A man walked out into the area in front of the band, then he extended his hand to a woman nearby. They started to walk around, then he extended his hand to me, then a child, then another child, then a parent– I started to dance with them even before I had time to think about it. I was out walking around in a circle moving to the Irish beat, and the children were smiling and laughing, and so was I. I felt so happy–and I loved seeing everyone smile. It all started with that extended hand offered by the older man– to come out and dance. 🙂
Dear Sher, I really liked this poem. It gave me a sentimental and grateful feeling for these small graces that help us bear one another, and keep our heart open for compassion. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It’s meaningful for me to see how these various word-songs strike people. I’m trying to post poems from a variety of styles and time periods. You’re right though–the little things mean so much and each comment seems to carry me onward to finding the next poem.
