“Letter from Oregon” by Doug Stone.

Our final poem sampling the wonderful anthology The Grace of Oregon Rain available from Turnstone Books of Oregon. As Doug Stone says: this “collection should be required reading of anyone thinking of moving to ” Oregon. I agree! It’s a rich collection exploring every aspect of rain we encounter in this state–The yearning for rain and the wish it might let up for awhile and all expressions in between.

About Me

“I’m a retired Humanities professor, published essayist, poet, painter, singer, and old-time fiddle musician living on an historic two-hundred-acre farm in Eastern Oregon. I plant gardens for pollinators and revel in insects, bird dogs, donkeys, goats, cats, and American fantail and roller pigeons. My lyric landscapes are oak savannah, prairie, and riparian.
